Vinyl Care

Vinyl Banners

•  Always roll your banner with design to the inside.

•  Make sure the banner is completely dry before you roll it up.

•  Do not store it when wet or damp.

•  NEVER FOLD THE BANNER!

•  Never use a rubber band to secure the banner roll as this will cause creases.

•  Loosely roll onto a rigid core or tube to ensure that it does not kink, crease or smash.

•  Store in a cool, dry location.

•  Clean with a soft, damp rag if dirty.

•  Do not use harsh substances like chemical cleansers or scrubber sponges on banner.

•  Keep the banner away from solvents such as paint thinner, acetone, alcohol, gasoline, etc.

•  Do not allow the banner to have ink to ink contact with itself or any other type of print.

Magnetics

•  Make sure the mounting surface is magnetic-receptive.

•  Magnets will not stick to aluminum or plastic vehicle body panels.

•  Not all magnetic material is equal.  We recommend 14 poles per inch.

•  30 mil matte white vinyl magnetic material.

•  We recommend rounded corners for all vehicle magnets.

•  Before affixing a vehicle magnet to your car, make sure all surface coatings are cured

•  (paint – 90 days, clear coat – 60 days, wax finishes – 2 days).

•  Insure that the surface area of your vehicle is clean and debris-free.

•  Clean the metal surface and the magnet, then allow the surface to dry completely.

•  Apply the magnet to a smooth, flat or gently curved metal surface.

•  Make sure the entire magnet is flat against the metal surface.

•  Do not place the magnet over  molding, decals, pin striping, etc.

•  This can allow air pockets that will weaken the hold of the magnet.

•  When removing the magnets, lift from the sides and not from the corners.

•  Never pull the magnets across the surface.

•  When storing a vehicle magnet, store them in a clean, dry area, and make sure they are flat. • •  Do not store multiple magnets face-to-face.

Vehicle Wraps & Vinyl Graphics

Wash Regularly

•  Wash whenever the car appears dirty. Contaminants allowed to remain on the graphic may be more difficult to remove during cleaning.

•  Rinse off as much dirt and grit as possible with a spray of water.

•  See "Difficult Contaminants", for spot cleaning bird droppings, tar, etc.

•  Use a wet, non-abrasive detergent such as 3M Car Wash Soap 39000 or Meguiar’s NXT Generation® Car Wash or Deep Crystal® Car Wash and a soft, clean cloth or sponge.

•  Rinse thoroughly with clean water.  To reduce water spotting, immediately use a silicone squeegee to remove water and finish with a clean microfiber cloth.

Automated Car Washes

Vinyl wraps may be run through car washes. Touch less car washes are the best for graphic care. Use of brush car washes (depending upon the frequency and quality of brush) may cause dulling/scratching/lifting edge of the graphics.

Pressure Washing

Although hand washing is the preferred cleaning method, pressure washing may be used under these conditions.

•  Ensure the water pressure is kept below 2000 psi.

•  Keep water temperature below 180 °F.

•  Use a spray nozzle with a 40 degree wide angle spray pattern.

•  Keep the nozzle at least 1 foot away from and perpendicular to the graphic.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Holding the nozzle of a pressure washer at an angle to the graphic may lift edges of the film.

Difficult Contaminants

Soften difficult contaminants such as bug splatter, bird droppings, tree sap and similar contaminants by soaking them for several minutes with very hot, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. If further cleaning is needed, test one of these products in an inconspicuous area to ensure no damage to the graphics: Meguiar’s Gold Class Bug and Tar Remover or 3M Citrus Base Cleaner. Isopropyl alcohol (IPA) (two parts IPA to 1 part water) or denatured alcohol may also help. Spot clean the contaminants. Do not use rough scrubbing or abrasive tools, which will scratch the film. Wash and rinse off all residue immediately.

Fuel Spills

Wipe off immediately to avoid degrading the vinyl and adhesive. Then wash, rinse and dry as in "Wash Regularly" section as soon as possible.
